We propelled Decibel’s brand launch with a captivating Shopify site, strategically designed to enhance market entry through visually stunning design and effective conversion tactics.

The Challenge

Decibel was about to launch their brand and product, an energy drink that is formulated to nourish and maintain a healthy gut microbiome. They needed a stand-out website, with great visuals and user experience, so that they could have a successful launch and instill trust in their customers. They wanted to be ready to compete with the best.

The Outcome

We designed and built a conversion-focused Shopify site that was mobile-optimized and included pages to help educate the customer on the new product.

Decibel now has the confidence to go to market in a saturated market.

Setting Up a New Healthy Energy Drink Brand for Ecommerce Success

Decibel is a new brand looking to make a name for themselves in the saturated health-focused energy drink market. Their product is formulated to nourish and maintain a healthy gut microbiome while providing energy.

They were getting ready for their initial launch and wanted to make sure they didn’t fail to make an impact simply because of bad visuals, or worse yet, a bad user experience. They were looking for a clean and modern e-commerce site that would build trust with their customers and help ensure a successful product launch.

We were working on a rapid schedule, and decided to dive right in and do the visual design while developing.

Due to the tight timeline and since we were working with Shopify, we avoided as much custom code as we could. We started with the home page by creating a conversion optimized flow of components and designing a visual style that would influence the rest of the site.

Inspired by the energy drink's wave motif, we integrated waves to enhance the visual interest between sections.

The website was the only other visual brand asset they had made at the time, besides the can, so we were defining the majority of their brand’s visual style and feel.

Decibel cans are very vibrant and colorful and we chose to use a subdued color palette for the site so the cans would shine and the overall brand wouldn’t get too intensely colorful or gaudy.

This also influenced the photo style.

To encourage recurring orders, we included a “subscribe & save” buying option. We also placed a “find in store” page prominently in the nav to help drive retail sales.

We created unique pages for each product that were tailored to the color of each can and featured unique icons to help succinctly tell the benefits of the drink.

We also further helped educate the customer with a “Why Prebiotic Energy?” page that highlighted the unique selling point of Decibel’s prebiotic blend that aids digestion and nutrient absorption. We found ways to break up this dense information and keep the customer engaged, while still driving to the product.

The visual direction for the photos was a great place to add some personality to the brand.

The Payoff

The website we created for Decibel has given them the confidence to go to market in a saturated market. It now visually represents a brand that is aligned with their customer’s value and is optimized to educate and convert.
